This era is not the 3-hour album era. We are long past the days of being able to sit down and listen to something this long because, well, those days never happened - we have to invent our own histories and contexts for things like this that surpass attention spans and encourage us to do new things, to explore. Too many people create in ignorance that the earliest hip-hop hit, Rapper's Delight, was fifteen minutes long in its original form. The no-longer-present limitations of recorded music from the days of shellac singles fuck with us mentally and make it seem like a thirty-second snippet is enough to be an entire song, but like...that doesn't fly for me personally. Sure, you do you, but I feel an intrinsic NEED for there to be lots of music that I've done in my lifetime and for people to have something to explore. Isn't it nice to be able to get lost in something? I wanted to make something HUGE, something fucking INTERESTING that offers something NEW on every track. I wanted to make something fun that isn't 'content,' but is rather a lifestyle. Make yourself at home and enjoy Stereo Weasels / Wash and Dry Your Audio to its fullest. :)
